Revolution Studios’ sexy thriller Perfect Stranger asks the question: how far would you go to keep a secret? As I sat watching this film in a private screening (Thanks Mark!), within the first 10 minutes of the movie, I asked myself “what did I get myself into?”. Halle Berry, who play’s Rowena Price, is beautiful but a terrible actress.
Investigative reporter Rowena (Halle Berry) and sidekick Miles (Giovanni Ribisi) goes undercover to solve the mystery behind the death of Rowena’s friend Grace (Nicki Aycox).
All signs point to a big shot advertising tycoon and notorious womanizer Harrison Hill (Bruce Willis). The path leads Rowena to land a temp job in his agency to scout for more information.
The film tries hard to keep you in suspense by throwing in lots of twists keeping you guessing who the killer is… but in the end, it comes up short and awkward. There are a few memorable scenes where Rowena discovers the odd world of Instant Messaging. Overall the acting is terrible and the only one who seems like he’s trying is Giovanni Ribisi, but his efforts seem wasted here.

I’d rather watch some Perfect Strangers reruns. The hijinx of Balki and Larry seem much more appealing.
