BC SPCA Paws for a Cause

The British Columbia Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (BC SPCA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting animals in BC. In 2007, they operated 36 branches across BC. Did you know that it costs $120-150 to spay or neuter a cat/dog? Multiply that by the number of stray animals in the city and it adds to big bucks to keep them in operation.

On June 6th, the BC SPCA had a kickoff launch party at the Coast Plaza Hotel & Suites in downtown Vancouver for the annual Paws for a Cause fund raising campaign.

Sammy

Here I met the adorable “Sammy” who I was told was a Germansky, a German Shepard Husky mix. He was such a shy guy. During the fashion show he almost fell off the stage as he was too scared to be strutting his stuff down the runway.

On September 14th, 2008, there will be a walks held all around British Columbia. I will be participating in the Vancouver walk at Vanier Park with the Pawsitively Coast team. Join us on a nice morning walk around the park for the animals!

If you are an animal lover, please pledge me for the 2008 Paws for a Cause.
